Nothing Goes to Waste

In most roasteries, small things get thrown away. A batch of green coffee too small to fill a full roast. A roast that didn't go quite to plan. Coffee sitting just past our seven-day freshness window. At The Coffee Factory, all of that goes into a bin — and eventually into this bag.

The green coffee gets roasted and everything gets blended together. What you get is genuinely different every time: unpredictable, unrepeatable, and completely honest about what it is. No fixed cup notes. No guaranteed origin. Just good coffee that would otherwise go to waste.

Mixed Origins — Whatever We're Working With

There is no fixed origin for the Misfits Blend because there is no fixed recipe. It changes every time, built from whatever has accumulated, green coffee lots too small to roast alone, roasts that didn't hit the mark, coffees that have crept past our seven-day freshness cut-off.

Every batch gets roasted and blended together. The origins could be Brazil one week, Ethiopia the next, a Colombian lot the week after. The roast level varies too — dark enough to bring some consistency across different beans, but never the same twice.

Buying the Misfits Blend means accepting that unpredictability. In return, you get a coffee with a genuine story behind it, at a price that reflects exactly what it is.

No Waste Misfits is made from our test roasts and green coffees that didn't make up a full roast batch — coffees that are too good to discard but too small in quantity to sell individually. We blend them together rather than let them go to waste.

Not exactly — the specific coffees in the blend rotate depending on what's available from our roastery at the time. What stays consistent is the quality: every component is specialty grade and roasted in-house. Think of it as a rotating seasonal blend.

Tasting notes vary with each batch depending on the origins included. Current notes are listed on the product page. Expect specialty-grade flavours — typically in the range of chocolate, fruit, caramel, or floral notes depending on the batch.
