Capsule Cold Brew Carafe

Capsule Cold Brew Carafe

Kinto Capsule Cold Brew Carafe

The Kinto Capsule Cold Brew Carafe makes cold brew at home effortless — and keeps it looking beautiful on your counter or in your fridge while it brews. Simply add water to the carafe, place your coarsely ground coffee in the mesh filter, and leave it to steep in the fridge for 8 to 24 hours. The longer you leave it, the richer and more concentrated the result.

What sets the Capsule apart is its clever lid mechanism: it opens automatically when the carafe is tipped for pouring and closes again when set upright — so you can pour one-handed from any direction without spills. Available in White and Black.

Why We Love It

Cold brew is one of the smoothest, least acidic ways to enjoy coffee — and the Kinto Capsule makes it genuinely simple. We use it at The Coffee Factory during summer, often with our single origin filter coffees, and the results are excellent. The design is clean and compact, and the heat-resistant glass keeps your cold brew visible so you can watch the colour develop over the brew.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the cold brew take?
A minimum of 8 hours gives you a smooth, light cold brew. 12–18 hours is our sweet spot for a balanced, concentrated result. 24 hours produces a very strong concentrate — great for diluting with milk or water.

What coffee should I use?
Any medium to light roast works well. Single origin filter coffees tend to shine in cold brew — the cold extraction pulls out floral and fruit notes beautifully. Avoid very fine grinds as they'll clog the filter.

Is the lid really spill-proof?
The auto-open mechanism is designed to release liquid smoothly when tipped, and close when upright — it's not 100% pressurised but works reliably in normal pouring conditions. We wouldn't recommend putting it in a bag without the lid fully closed.

Can I use it for tea?
Yes — it works just as well for cold brew tea. Use the same method with loose leaf or bagged tea and reduce steeping time to 4–8 hours in the fridge.

Is it dishwasher safe?
Yes, the Capsule Cold Brew Carafe is fully dishwasher safe. Hand washing the mesh filter helps maintain it longer.
