    Kissii County

In Keumbu ward , Kisii county is the Nyaturiobo farmers cooperative society. Founded in 1957, Nyaturobo FCS is the best performing FCS in the region, with a reputation for quality and consistent lots that are Rainforest Alliance certified. This peaberry lot takes red ripe cherries that are weighed and sorted at the wet mill before pulping, where they are then fermented, fully washed, and graded according to density into P1, P2, P3 and PL before being dried on raised beds for 8-14 days. Peaberries are a natural mutation that occurs in around 5% of coffee cherries where only one bean is formed. Due to their scarcity and the extra processing involved, Peaberries tend to command a higher price at market.
