This natural heirloom lot comes from Gamacho washing station in Daye Bensa, run by Tadesse and his wife Mrs. Bekelech Burka and their nine children. Over 250 independent growers bring their cherries to Gamacho washing station; which also provides milling and warehousing services, quality based price incentives and skill building training courses for the local growers. The heirloom varietels that make this lot are indigenous coffee plants, that reproduce naturally using open pollination, and have evolved without human intervention. Natural processes have been used for this lot; handpicked beans are dryed for several weeks on traditional African raised beds, allowing the cherries natural sugars to infuse the beans, creating the signature Ethiopian cup profile.
