One third of Malawi is taken up by Lake Malawi, one of the world's deepest lakes, with its bordering land reaching altitudes perfect for the development of Coffee.

Coffee makes up less than 5% of Malawi's exports; but that number is growing as a focus on quality processing for the specialty market increases, better pricing to incentivize farmers and the founding of farmer led Cooperatives. Sable farms in southern Malawi has been growing coffee for over 30 years alongside Macadamia nuts and dairy, and is the only incorporated coffee producer in Malawi. Sable farms supports its workers by providing health insurance for them and their families, and funding a school on their Ngapani estate in the Mangochi district. This fully washed coffee has a screen size of 15, and is dried using solar powered coffee dryers.
